Scholarships

A nursing graduate Education is one of the greatest investments in a community, and scholarship assistance is at the core of the Foundation mission to support Yavapai College and its students.

Foundation scholarships from more than 85 endowed funds benefit hundreds of students each year, with more than $1 million awarded to deserving undergraduates over the last decade.

Criteria for scholarship awards vary and are determined by the donor at the time of fund establishment. They include, but are not limited to, academic performance, financial need, program of study, extracurricular activities, and ethnic and/or social background.

It is only through scholarship assistance that many students are able to realize their dreams for higher education.

Established Scholarships

Anonymous Music Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified first year student interested in pursuing a music education and/or participating in the music performance activities at Yavapai College.

Arizona Association of Realtors Real Estate Education Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified business student, preferably with a real estate emphasis.

Dr. Ralph Arnold Nursing Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified Nursing Degree Program student. First preference will be given to Native American students.

Atkin/Gary Past President Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.

Roy Bronander Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to students enrolled in their second year of the Nursing Degree Program.

Champion’s Scholarship Fund/Barbara J. Polk

Available to qualified students who are former or current wards of an Arizona court.

Construction Technology Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified construction technology student.

Irene Morrison Davis Piano Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified full-time piano student residing in Arizona.

Caroline Dobberteen Art Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified art student.

De Rhoads Dolan Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.

Jamie Drew Scholarship

Available to any qualified music student.

Education Now! Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student maintaining a full course load and completing all courses successfully with a GPA of 2.99 and above.

Ray A. Elliott, Jr., Family Scholarship Fund

Available to students based on need & past academic performance as determined solely by the Scholarship Committee of the Greater Verde Valley Chapter, with input from the Office of Student Services on the Verde Valley Campus of Yavapai College.

Recipient is to be currently enrolled in an advanced program of study at any Yavapai College location, after first obtaining and YC certificate or completing at least 1 year of study at YC in an appropriate program/field of study.

3.5 GPA in previous year(s) of study in a related YC program. Although all YC Certificate holders will be considered, premedical, nursing, emergency services & business management will be favored.

Kenneth C. Fitch and Louise Blake Fitch Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student enrolled on the Clarkdale Campus with at least a B average in their last semester of school attendance showing a financial need for assistance.

Foundation General Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.

Artie R. & Mabel L. Frank Scholarship

To assist with tuition and other educational expenses of students, based on their financial needs.

GFWC The Monday Club Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified female student.

Garner-Smith Scholarship Fund

Available to students enrolled in: (1) Nursing Degree Program; (2) Fire Science; (3) Emergency Medical Services; (4) Police Certification/Law Enforcement; then, any other Public Services program of study.

Gnagey/Physician's Nursing Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified nursing student.

Howard and Marion Hahn Scholarship for Family Enrichment

Available to qualified Prescott Campus students for child care assistance.

Ed Harris Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to students in business or teacher education courses.

Taylor Hicks Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.

Elizabeth Hooker Nursing Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified nursing student, preferably but not limited to a non-traditional student.

Ralph Hooker/Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff's Posse Memorial Scholarship Fund

Administered by Scholarship Committee of Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff's Posse to student of their choice.

Dr. Ray Inscore Endowed Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified nursing student.

Jay Johnson Memorial Agricultural Scholarship Fund

Available to any Agribusiness Technology Program student.

Sandra M. Love Memorial Scholarship

Available to any qualified Yavapai College full-time, female “re-entry” student seeking a degree or certificate.

Douglas Charles McLouth Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified Bradshaw Mountain High School graduate.

Marie McVicker Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified Yavapai College Verde Valley Campus student.

Marcusen, Peterson, Branson Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student in an Art Department course or courses.

Donald B. Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any full-time student in good standing in his/her second year of study with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Lee & Marie Mills Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified second year student with a GPA of 3.5 or above.

Art Morrison Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified full-time Gunsmith student.

Mary Alice Moulton Childcare Assistance Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student whos child/children are enrolled in the Del E. Webb Family Enrichment Center/Lab School. Distributions will be made from the Yavapai College Office of Financial Aid directly to the Del E. Webb Family Enrichment Center.

Mathew Mumford Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to qualified student who is preferably a United Methodist Church member or other active constituent or if not a member a student recommended by the United Methodist Church, its pastors or other church leaders.

Arthur Nagel Memorial Product Design Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified manufacturing/engineering student.

Clara Nagel Memorial Nature Study Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified biology student.

Nebeker Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified art student.

Ardy Jo Noel Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified Nursing Degree Program student.

R. J. Perper Medical Research Scholarship Fund

Available to full-time student with a GPA of 3.5 or above having completed introductory biology and chemistry courses. Preference will be given to those who have finished anatomy and physiology and/or microbiology and those enrolled in independent study or internship program(s). Recipient will be chosen by a committee consisting of three part-time or full-time faculty members.

Thurston Phetteplace Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student–not necessarily based on academic excellence but rather on need.

Phillips Health Career Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified health technologies student.

Available to any qualified Arizona high school graduate nursing student.

Dorothy Rummel Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified business student in financial need.

Martha and Mary Rummel Family Scholarship Fund

Available to a qualified second year Nursing Degree Program student.

Charles E. Schott Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified Prescott High School graduate.

Available to any qualified student.

Paul H. Shannon Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified geology student.

Shane Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified MET major who is an Arizona native and a member of VICA.

Southwestern Artists Association Scholarship Fund

Available to qualified Yavapai County high school graduate enrolled in Visual Arts classes. Recipient must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0.

Craig Steinbrink Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to students enrolled in (1) Fire Science; (2) Emergency Medical Services; (3) Police Certification/Law Enforcement; then, any other Public Services program. First preference to graduates of Bradshaw Mountain, Chino Valley, Mayer or Prescott High Schools.

James & Herchanna Sullivan Nursing Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified nursing degree program student to assist with tuition and other educational expenses based on financial need.

Sumter Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student in financial need.

Teacher's Education Scholarship Fund

Available to full time student, who qualifies for Arizona resident status, is a resident of Yavapai County, and is enrolled in preparatory courses leading to education major. Recipient must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0 and preferable 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Recipient must be enrolled in sophomore year and express an intent to become a teacher.

The Tenney Family Scholarship Fund

Available to full-time student who qualifies for Arizona resident status and is a participant in the Yavapai College Women’s Athletic Program.

Dr. Helmet Edward Trucks Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified manufacturing/engineering student.

Veterans Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student who is a veteran.

Vision and Hearing Impaired Education Scholarship Fund

Available to full-time sophomore student residing in Yavapai County and enrolled in preparatory courses leading to educational or vocational degree. First preference should be given to a student with a partial or total hearing impairment, with a second preference to a physically handicapped student.

Susan Webb Memorial Scholarship Fund

Criteria has not been established.

Wells Fargo Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.

Susan A. Williams Memorial Scholarship

Available to any qualified Yavapai College female "re-entry" student seeking a degree or certificate.

Yavapai Symphony/Dana Wingate Music Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified music student. Administered by the Music Department faculty.

Earl & Virginia Williams Endowed Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified first or second year student with plans to major in English or History and a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Woznicki Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified research science student.

Helen R. Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any education or health technologies student based on above average grades, need and proven record of dedication. Special consideration should be given to older students who are entering a new profession or upgrading their present educational level.

Yavapai Cattle Growers Memorial Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student enrolled in the Yavapai College Agribusiness Technology Program.

Yavapai College Music Department Scholarship Fund

Any qualified music student.

Yavapai County Chiropractic Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.

Yavapai Medical Auxiliary Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified nursing student with financial need.

Yule Scholarship Fund

Available to any qualified student.
