RBT studentYavapai College's award-winning Residential Building Technology program is a hands-on green building program that emphasizes building strategies that result in the construction of healthy, safe, durable, comfortable, affordable, resource and energy efficient, environmentally responsive houses that incorporate appropriate materials, systems and technologies for the 21st century. During this program, approximately 12-15 students build a home from foundation to finish in 2-3 semesters.

The YCF supports this innovative program with:

  • Start-up capital for the building lot and materials
  • An endowed scholarship funded by a percentage of the home sale proceeds
  • Funding for student travel to national building conferences
