In 2003, the college president and executive leadership team went forward with an attempt to merge the college's Master Plan process with the institutional budgeting cycle. However, the 2003 self-study visiting team recommended that the college’s overall planning processes were inadequate.
In order to improve institutional effectiveness, and in accordance with Higher Learning Commission recommendations, the Institutional Review Committee (IRC) was reorganized as the Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) and given the charge to lead the college’s strategic planning process.
The SPC has and will continue to integrate leadership goals into the strategic planning process; create a highly visible and participatory process; involve all college personnel in the planning process; link planning to the budget process; and create a planning process that is regular, comprehensive and communicates results.
