Sedona

Sedona is located in both Yavapai and Coconino counties, approximately 15 miles of private property is surrounded by National Forest. The breathtaking scenery, four delightfully mild seasons, clean air and water attract artists, writers, and retirees. A hub for New Thought devotees, many come for the promise of mystical experiences.

Red rock hills around SedonaScenic red rocks provide an elegant backdrop to tall evergreens and beautiful sunsets in Sedona. Emerging as a major resort and tourist destination, Sedona had its roots in a rural community and artists' retreat. Today, young families are calling Sedona home, bringing a greater diversity to the economic base and community that is part of this magical place.

Yavapai College Sedona CenterYavapai College's Sedona Center for Arts & Technology is home to the Zaki Gordon Institute for Independent Filmmaking and the Dana Atchley Center for Digital Storytelling. Supporting a diverse community, YCSC provides innovative educational opportunities nurturing the arts, lifelong learning, and economic-driven outcomes in a friendly environment emphasizing personal and professional self-expression. In addition to programs focused on narrative and documentary filmmaking, digital storytelling, programs tailored to management training for business community members, and the Academy for Lifelong Learning offerings, our students can avail themselves of college courses in Sedona available for transfer to the university level.
