Supported Web Browsers

Yavapai College strives to provide support to as wide a variety of computers, operating systems, and web browsers as possible. Unfortunately, since not every browser follows every standard we must limit our support to some of the more recent browsers. We are always open to suggestions for which browsers to support and welcome any recommendations you may have. The browsers listed below are known to support Javascript, stylesheets, and general layout and functionality found on the YC web site and auxiliary YC sites. Most browsers below are known to support the new "wildcard" SSL certificates that were implemented in 2005.

Supported Browsers:

• Windows (98, ME, 2000, XP):
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0
  • Mozilla Firefox 1.0 (or greater)

• Macintosh (OS X):
  • Mozilla Firefox 1.0 (or greater)
  • Safari 1.2 (or greater)

• Linux*:
  • Mozilla Firefox 1.0 (or greater)

• Solaris, IRIX, other UNIX platforms*:
  • Netscape Navigator or Communicator**, most recent release per platform (full support not guaranteed)

* = Support may not be available through our Helpdesk for users browsing on these Operating Systems.

** = May require an update to support SSL (secure) communication on YC web sites.
