Yavapai College is committed to providing students full and convenient access to state-of-the-art technology. College-wide computer resources make it easy for students to stay connected and fulfill academic requirements.
YC has computer labs on all college campuses. All computer labs have printers and all computers have the availability of approximately 150 pieces of software, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Works, Corel WordPerfect, Internet Explorer and software related to Business, Language, Science, Math, Art, Computer Aided Drafting and Nursing.

Yavapai College opened two brand new libraries on its Prescott and Verde campuses in 2005. These state-of-the-art facilities house more than 126,000 items combined, with more than 1 million items accessible through the Yavapai Library Network. Each library has student and guest PCs, media rooms, study rooms and audiovisual carrels. More than 10,000 full-text online journals are accessible through the library’s 34 databases, and online assistance is available through the “Ask a Librarian” service.
Blackboard is a Course Management System (CMS) that provides 24-7 access to course materials and resources such as course syllabus, videos, web links, discussion board, virtual classroom, email and more. Blackboard is web-based, which means software is purchased and maintained by Yavapai College, with students being required to have an Internet connection and the basic software required for their course.
Select classrooms at Yavapai College are set up to capture lectures (video, audio and computer content) and automatically upload those lectures to designated Blackboard courses. This technology allows students to review an indexed version of their classroom lecture, reinforcing basic concepts and refining their notes.
Many instructors are taking advantage of the streaming video service available at Yavapai College, allowing them to stream rich media content out to their students through Blackboard. With streaming video, students have access to high quality video content without having to wait on long download times.
ITV classrooms on the Prescott, Chino Valley, Verde Valley and Sedona campuses provide access to remote courses for students across the county. With the use of high-tech video cameras and microphones, students are able to interact in a real time setting, though they may be in different locations. Video images of participants and course content are simultaneously projected, so students at each site have access to all of the relevant course information.
Register for classes, check grades, and review financial aid status or update student records – all online. (Username and PIN needed).
