Dear Colleagues:
Yavapai College is committed to creating a work and learning environment that puts a premium on civility, respect, honesty, integrity, creativity and professionalism. These are shared values and ethical principles at the heart of our College.
In keeping with our commitment, we have made arrangements for two new resources aimed at helping us understand relevant laws and policies. One resource is an online training program called Preventing Sexual Harassment and the second is an Ethics Resource website. Both resources are designed to help ensure our professional behavior is beyond reproach and guide our actions in difficult decisions.
I am fully committed to ensuring our College enjoys a civil and inclusive atmosphere that advances our mission and our reputation for excellence in serving our community. I will participate in this program and encourage all of us to use these principles as a guide in the conduct of all our activities at YC. Thank you for taking the time to be informed on these issues.
James Horton, Ph.D.
Yavapai College President
Yavapai College employees are expected to exhibit ethical behavior when carrying out responsibilities as College representatives, following basic guidelines of honesty and integrity. The College does not view ethics as a simple compliance program, but as an organizational value that builds a campus culture of ethical behavior, as supported by our YC Code of Ethics and ethics related policies. We continue to monitor the organization to ensure our Code of Ethics remains relevant to the current environment and culture at Yavapai College.
You may complete either the self-paced, on-line training in Blackboard or one of the live discussion-based workshops listed in the training schedule. If you have any questions or need help, please contact the Human Resources Office at (928) 776-2218.
