Brianna Paulino

I call myself a native Prescottonian, although I wasn't actually born in Prescott (I moved here from the San Diego area when I was a baby). I grew up in the Prescott area, attending a variety of the local schools, and ending at Tri-City Prep High School.

I learned of the Honors Program actually through a short promotion from the college's Chamber Singers, which came to my school. I knew it was something of which I wanted to be a part. I thought I was not eligible, but found out two weeks before the deadline that I could apply. I rushed to meet the deadline, and was extremely grateful that I did.

Through CHP, I was able to attend YC basically for free, and gain my Associates at age eighteen. I so enjoyed the Honor's Program. I loved seeing the Virgin Islands and New York City, I loved meeting fellow scholars and seeing issues from different points of view, and I loved being able to be an active part of the college.

I am now planning on moving on to NAU in order to obtain my teaching degree. I hope to be able to teach middle school English, and I feel as though I am well on my way to attaining that goal. The Honors Program provided me with the means to attend Yavapai and begin my degree that I otherwise might not have had.
