College Honors Program Requirements
Students who have proven their ability to excel academically can participate in the College Honors Program on either the Prescott or Verde Valley campuses.
Entering Freshmen must
- rank in the upper 15% of their High School graduating class* and
- have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale (or a score of 650 or greater on the G.E.D. or High School Equivalence Diploma).
* Home school graduates may apply if minimum GPA is met.
Continuing Students must
- have completed between 14 and 36 Yavapai College credits in courses numbered 100-299,
- have maintained a Yavapai College GPA of 3.4 or better and
- demonstrate that at least two full semesters of work remain before completion of a degree.
To remain in the Honors Program, students must
- enroll in a minimum of 13 credit hours,
- maintain a required GPA and
- participate in special honors activities.
