Center for Successful Aging

Life course has traditionally been seen as a linear progression, from school, work to retirement. Now, a circular life course is emerging, with education, work, and leisure being intertwined as our population ages. Yavapai College’s Division of Lifelong Learning addresses this new life course, with programs serving 5,000 adult students annually.

Osher Lifelong Learning Programs (OLLI)

OLLI offers exciting educational opportunities for older adults by challenging members to explore areas of interest in peer-supported and peer-directed learning. Members attend learning groups where they learn about and discuss a variety of topics including art, history, philosophy and religion, movies, hiking, literature, computers and much more. Best of all, there are no papers and no tests!

Osher programs awarded a 1 million dollar endowment! A first for a community college!

Edventures

Adult students seeking an educational experience beyond the classroom enjoy Edventures, experiential one- to three-day journeys of the mind and body to new, exciting and spectacular locations in the Southwest and beyond.

Community Education

Community Education classes address subjects related to leisure, lifestyle and special interest. Courses range from single day to four to five week classes, are non-credit and are taught by community professionals experienced in their chosen field.

Register for classes through the Community Education Office. Call 717-7755 or stop by Bldg. 31, Room 110 on the Prescott Campus between 9 am And 4 pm, Monday through Friday.  (Summer Hours Monday thru Thursday). To register online you must have be in the YC database with an email address. You can request a username and PIN number from Registration, 776-2199 and they will email it to you. Once you have a username and PIN click on Register for Classes on the YC home page, upper right hand corner.
