Join Yavapai College Student Leadership Council
SLC is dedicated to continuous student involvement on Campus in order to expand benefits to all students.
SLC PURPOSE STATEMENTS:
- Develop leadership philosophy/skills on an individual and group level.
- Provide opportunities for YC students to voice their ideas and opinions.
- Participate in College initiatives by representing YC students.
Recent improvements and activities accomplished by SLC include:
- Clothesline Across Campus - Community service project to assist shelters in Yavapai County.
- Welcome Week - Prescott/Prescott Valley
Why join SLC?
- Learn essential leadership skills.
- Participate in teambuilding activities.
- Learn to design, lead, and complete community service projects.
- Build your resume and contacts for future employment and educational opportunities.
What role can I play?
- Serve as a liaison and represent the opinion of all students.
- Attend on campus leadership classes as possible.
- Participate on district wide college committees.
- Attend Leadership conferences when available.
- Meet with students from other campuses throughout the district.
What can SLC do for me?
In exchange for your service, SLC members will receive reimbursement of up to 12 credit hours and a stipend per semester for a one (1) year commitment.
If you are interested in serving on SLC make sure you meet the following criteria:
- Be taking 6 credits or more.
- Be in good standing with Yavapai College and Campus Safety.
