Christi, YC graduate and First Year Middle School Teacher

I started at Yavapai College because it was affordable. Years later, when I decided to finally achieve my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher there was no question in my mind where to start.

I graduated with an associate’s degree in General Studies. The faculty and staff at YC were never too busy to stop and answer my questions. The Financial Aid and career counseling departments were always there for me to see that I got exactly what I needed, when I needed it.

I learned good study skills (essential for a teacher), how to work as a team member, flexibility, and that there are a lot of things I can do that I never thought I could. I guess YC helped me to gain self- confidence.

After earning my associate’s from Yavapai College, I transferred to NAU – Yavapai where I graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education.
