Apply & Enroll in 7 Steps

1. Submit an application for admission

You can apply online or download an interactive pdf.

If you choose the PDF, fill out the form, save it to your computer, and e-mail to: bob_hoskovec@yc.edu.

If you submit your application online, you will receive a username and PIN number by email, which will allow you to complete many of the next steps online.

If you apply using the PDF, you will need to contact the registration office at 928-776-2149 to request your PIN.

2. Submit high school transcripts

Your transcript will assist in the advisement process. Ask your high school to mail an official transcript which includes your last semester directly to:

  • Yavapai College
    Office of the Registrar
    1100 East Sheldon Street
    Prescott, Arizona 86301

3. Apply for financial aid and scholarships

The first step to apply for financial aid is to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Federal school code for Yavapai College is 001079. You may also want to look into other avenues for financial assistance, including grants, scholarships and loans. Application for the majority of the Yavapai College scholarships requires the completion of a single form, which can be requested through the Financial Aid Office or accessed online through Electronic Student Services (PIN Required). Yavapai College’s Priority Deadline is April 1. More information about scholarships can be found on the Financial Aid site. You are encouraged to apply for financial early and seek help from the college’s professional, experienced financial aid advisors.

For more information about applying for financial aid, call 928-776-2152 in the Prescott area, 928-634-6502 in the Verde Valley or 1-800-922-6787.

4. Submit housing application (if applicable)

If you are planning to live on campus, you will need to submit a housing and food service application online (PIN required). You are encouraged to apply for housing early; housing assignments are made by June 1, for the fall semester and December 1, for the spring semester. A refundable deposit of $150 is required at the time of application. For more information, contact Residence Life by email or call 928-776-2220.

5. Attend SOAR (New Student Orientation Assessment/Advising and Registration)

SOAR provides the academic advisement and assessment that is required for new students. The purpose of assessment testing is to place you in the classes most appropriate to your academic ability. You will not be denied admission to YC based on your assessment scores; however, you may need to enroll in preparatory courses before taking other higher-level courses. To arrange an appointment, call 928-776-2106 in Prescott, or 928-634-6563 in the Verde Valley.

6. Register for classes

After you determine your class schedule with an advisor, you are ready to register for classes. Registration for fall classes begins the preceding April; registration for spring classes begins the preceding November.

You can register one of 3 ways:
1. Online (PIN required)
2. By calling 928-776-2199
