The Annual Dr. Roy Bronander Science Math Bowl

The Science/Math Division voted to change the name of the Annual Science Bowl to the Annual Dr. Roy Bronander Science/Math Bowl in honor of his service to Yavapai College.

Dr. Bronander dedicated 24 years to Yavapai College, contributing vastly to the knowledge and skills of numerous students who were entering, or already in, the nursing program.

Although Dr. Bronander was rigorous and demanding in his classroom requirements, his students knew that when they passed his courses, their knowledge was absolute, and that they were prepared to begin their careers as true professionals.

The Annual Dr. Roy Bronander Science/Math Bowl will be held in May of every year. This event is a Jeopardy-type contest held among four teams composed of five members each. Each member is usually proficient in one of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Math, or Physics. Questions are chosen from each of these fields, and points are awarded according to the degree of difficulty of the questions. The winning team members will receive a $50.00 scholarship, and all team participants will be given Science Bowl tee-shirts. Everyone is encouraged to attend this fun event and cheer on their classmates.
