This 35 credit block of the transfer degree courses is accepted by the three Arizona public universities and guarantees completion of lower-division general education requirements and admission to the universities. For more information, please see the AGEC - Arizona General Education Curriculum link.

Yavapai College General Education

General Education courses at Yavapai College are grouped into three categories:

  1. Foundation Studies, consisting of college-level English and mathematics courses;
  2. Core Studies, consisting of interdisciplinary courses;
  3. Area Studies, consisting of courses in science, humanities, and social science.

General Education courses generally require critical reading and thoughtful writing. Students with college-level reading and writing skills have the foundation necessary for success.

In some cases a specific degree program may require the student to select particular courses, rather than to select freely from the list of approved General Education courses. The student should follow requirements of the specific degree program to ensure graduation and transfer of credits.

For more information, please see General Education.
